Kufstein Polka is a composition by Austrian button accordionist Klaus Koffler. Koffler was most famous as half of Die Kasermandln – originally Klaus und Ferdl and then Klaus und Sepp. Most of their songs were marked by simple and pleasing 2-part vocal harmonies and yodeling, with many humorous songs intertwined with popular folk melodies. This is one of his rare instrumental tunes. It has some fun little sections that require a nice spread of octaves for a unique quality. This tune was also recorded by my father on our “Like Father, Like Son” album in 1993.
